Transcending Masculinity looks at the societal expectations of men, and how the "ideal male body" affects how we look at ourselves. The collection of self portraits and portraits of other young men is focused on how this idea specifically affects transgender men and how we see ourselves. How do we fit into the box of masculinity? Are these "ideals" attainable or realistic for a trans body? Are we still men if we don't adhere to the rules?
